On the occasion of the Salone del Mobile 2024, GIOVANARDI has presented some furnishing accessories created by Bottega Intreccio with Raytent acrylic recycled fabrics and yarn ropes, suggesting solutions that are in tune with the desgin’s trend and are sustainable at the same time, giving back vitality to the precious bind tradition of the Marches.

Raytent is the first mass-dyed recycled acrylic yarn that is pre-consumer, or recovered from new material discarded during awnings’ industrial processing. Raytent is a recycling process developed in Giovanardi to reduce textile’s sector impact on the planet and to ensure a more sustainable future. Through an up-cycling process, awning scarps are recovered and transformed in recycled fiber and blended with virgin fiber. The result is a yarn made of 50% of recycled fiber, created by a process that uses less water, reduces chemicals and CO2 emissions.

Great progresses are not made alone. That’s why Raytent is the result of a close collaboration with sun shading companies which supply their industrial processing waste. GIOVANARDI collects them and brings them back to wire fiber. This is the core of the process, a mechanic transformation which maintains unaltered the material’s quality. A blend of recycled and virgin acrylic fiber is then created, according to specific color recipes, to obtain the various shades of yarn. This is Raytent yarn, certified ReMade® in Italy.
